Gender and Migration: Resisting with a Camera. A Researcher to Researcher Experience

Ce manuscrit est le fruit d’une collaboration réflexive entre deux chercheuses situés à des endroits différents. Il se situe au carrefour de la connaissance et de l’activisme visuel à trois niveaux : il utilise une étude de cas pour analyser les possibilités du photovoice comme forme de résistance aux récits de haine; il réfléchit aux façons dont l’observé et l’observateur coopèrent pour construire à partir de leurs propres perspectives un savoir légitimé visant à promouvoir la visibilité et la transformation sociale; enfin, il examine si les images peuvent devenir une forme d’activisme visuel et, si c’est le cas, les façons dont elles peuvent être utilisées à cette fin. En utilisant comme point de départ le travail de la photographe Diane Arbus et un projet de photovoice sur le fait d’être une femme migrante en Espagne, les auteurs élaborent sur le pouvoir des images de travailler aux marges, à partir des marges et pour les marges.Références
