  • Agata Mergler, York University, York University

    Agata Mergler est candidate au doctorat en sciences humaines à l'université de York et sa thèse porte sur la traduction culturelle et l'art numérique latino-américain. Elle travaille à l'intersection de la traduction culturelle, des études culturelles et médiatiques, de la recherche sur l'art numérique et de la littérature comparée.

    Elle est actuellement chargée de cours à l'université d'art Magdalena Abakanowicz de Poznan en philosophie (étudiant.e.s du baccalauréat) et en philosophie contemporaine (étudiant.e.s de maîtrise). Elle est titulaire d'un doctorat et spécialisée dans la philosophie allemande du XXe siècle.
    Elle fait partie d'un projet de recherche artistique collaboratif Haptic/Visual Identities depuis 2015 aux côtés de Cristian Villavicencio, qui a donné lieu à des expositions, des articles et des conférences artistiques en Europe, en Amérique du Sud et en Amérique du Nord.
    Elle est co-créatrice du groupe de recherche CCLA Fantastical Constellations after Magical Realism et a coédité un numéro de la Canadian Review of Comparative Literature sur le réalisme post-magique.

    Ses articles récents sont « Walter Benjamin's Media Theory in the Times of Platform Nihilism » dans le livre Violence and Nihilism, et Documenta Fifteen and Berlin Biennale 12 - Comparison publié dans le NECSUS European Journal of Media Studies.

    Au cours des dernières années, elle a exercé, dans des proportions inégales, les fonctions d'artiste médiatique, de traductrice, d'interprète et d'enseignante universitaire.
